Expressen: Färjestad forward in the starting blocks – negotiating a Liiga contract
In the SHL playoffs, a bitter collapse was witnessed on Sunday when Färjestad lost their 3–0 lead in the quarterfinal series and fell to Rögle with a score of 3–4. The fourth consecutive quarterfinal disappointment also means that the team will undergo significant changes next season.
Among those leaving is forward Emil Alba, who is currently negotiating a transfer to the Liiga according to Expressen.
– The hardworking forward does not seem to be staying in Färjestad. Interest has been shown from both Finland and MoDo, but Alba has not yet made a decision regarding his future, the Swedish newspaper reports.
Alba’s season in the SHL was underwhelming. The 183-centimeter and nearly hundred-kilogram forward played 45 regular season games with stats of 2+7=9.
However, there is potential. In Sweden’s second-highest league, HockeyAllsvenskan, Alba has posted strong numbers in previous years. Two seasons ago, Alba scored 14+23=37 points in 50 games.
