Forward Elias Vilen leaves Pelicans and moves to Sweden on a contract for the remainder of the season. His new team is Kalmar HC, which plays in the country’s second-highest league, the Allsvenskan.

Vilen, 25, is a product of Pelicans’ youth system. He made his Liiga debut in the 2019-2020 season. Vilen has played a significant role in the Pelicans team in recent years, achieving silver medals twice.

This season, Vilen scored 17 points in 38 games for Pelicans, with 7 goals and 10 assists. He also wore the team’s golden helmet for a large part of the season.

Vilen has not played abroad in his previous career.
