Doug Shedden sent direct greetings to the league referees
Canadian coach Doug Shedden, 64, stepped into the Vaasan Sport locker room for the first time on Tuesday.
Sport published a video on Instagram where Shedden gave his first speech as the head coach of the club.
Shedden immediately sent greetings to the league’s referees.
– If there are still the same referees here, I hope they have lost their memory, the hot-headed and straightforward coach Shedden remarked.
Shedden hopes that his team will not waste time complaining about refereeing. The experienced coach mentioned that he has watched Sport’s last two games on tape.
– Too much energy goes into whether the call is right or wrong. We don’t need to talk to those guys anymore. We will focus entirely on our own game, Shedden stated.
Shedden has coached in his career with Jokers and HIFK, as well as the Lions. In the last two seasons, he led the German team Iserlohn Roosters. Shedden also has experience from Switzerland, Slovakia, and the Canadian national team.
