Big NHL deal for Finnish goalies’ new teammate
Nashville Predators’ Finnish goalies Justus Annunen and Juuse Saros have gained a new teammate as forward Mavrik Bourque has joined the team from Dallas.
Predators acquired the rights to the Canadian player from the Stars in exchange for two draft picks, and now the team has signed him to a contract.
Bourque, 24, will play for Nashville for the next six seasons. The deal is worth 33 million dollars, meaning Bourque will earn 5.5 million dollars per season.
Bourque scored 41 points last season in 82 regular-season games, with 20 goals and 21 assists. The forward is looking for a bigger role with the Predators, as competition for playing time with the renowned Stars was tough.
The Canadian, drafted by the Stars in 2020, has now played two full seasons in the NHL. Last season, he recorded 25 points.
