Big contract news from the Finnish team in the NHL – deal for the captain

The Canadian captain Jamie Benn, who leads the “Finnish mafia” of the Dallas Stars, continues with the team.
The Texas team announces that Benn, 36, has signed a one-year extension worth $885,000.
Next season will be Benn’s 18th with the Dallas Stars. He is a homegrown draft pick from the summer of 2007 in the fifth round.
Benn scored a career-high 89 points in an NHL season. Last season, he recorded 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points in 60 regular-season games. In the playoffs, he played six games without scoring.
Benn has been the captain of the Stars since 2013.
