Big change in SaiPa’s lineup – superstar out!
The league will see the sixth quarterfinal matches on Saturday in the series KalPa-Ilves and Ässät-SaiPa. A spot in the semifinals is at stake for Ilves and Ässät.
One of the most significant lineup changes among the teams is made by SaiPa. The team’s superstar Maxime Fortier is absent from the active lineup.
Fortier ranked third in the regular season scoring race, with impressive stats of 29+37=66 in 58 games. However, in the playoffs, Fortier has only scored one goal in five games.
Joining SaiPa’s lineup are Emil Kuusla, Otto Hokkanen, and Santeri Airola. Besides Fortier, Miro Tauslahti and Vertti Svensk will be sidelined.
Kari Piiroinen, who was switched to the goal during the last match, will get the first start of the playoff season for SaiPa on Saturday. Tomi Karhunen, who started the other matches, will serve as the backup goalie.
Ässät aims to close out the series in front of their home crowd with the same lineup they used in the previous match.
