The Swedish defender Oskar Nilsson, who represented Ässät this season, is ending his playing career at the age of 35. Nilsson announced his retirement decision on his Instagram account.

Nilsson played his final season in the Liiga wearing the Ässät jersey, serving as the team’s alternate captain. He played 51 regular season games, recording 3+5 points, and seven playoff games, in which he scored one goal.

During his career, Nilsson played six seasons in the SHL, representing Oskarshamn and Skellefteå. He won the SHL championship with Skellefteå in the spring of 2024.

Nilsson also played in the Allsvenskan and Norway’s top league during his career.
