Kasperi Ojantakanen is changing teams in the Liiga. The 31-year-old center, who represented Kärpät last season, returns to Ässät, where he previously played for two seasons from 2023 to 2025.

This is at least initially a short-term reinforcement, as Ojantakanen’s new contract only runs until the end of October.

Ässät’s sports director Jarno Kultanen knows exactly what the experienced center brings to the team.

– Kassu is a familiar player to us, so we know that we are getting an experienced and reliable center to add depth to the group, Kultanen commented in the club’s press release.

Ojantakanen played 58 regular season games for Kärpät last season, collecting stats of 1+8=9.

The experienced forward has also represented KooKoo in addition to Ässät and Kärpät in the Liiga. In total, Ojantakanen has played 406 Liiga games, scoring 31+68=99.
