JYP has signed a two-year extension with forward Aaro Vidgren. The 29-year-old Vidgren’s new contract runs until spring 2029.

Vidgren is currently playing his fifth season with JYP. The forward has started the current season strongly, collecting nine points (4+5) in 17 games.

JYP announced Vidgren’s contract extension on Saturday, October 31, during the opening ceremony of the Jokerit game. At the same time, the forward was honored for reaching 500 Liiga games.

Vidgren says he is very pleased with the extension. Jyväskylä has become an important place for him both on and off the ice.

– I have very good feelings about the contract. My primary interest was to continue here, and when the opportunity arose, it was great to be able to stay with JYP, Vidgren commented in the club’s announcement.

– Jyväskylä means a lot to me. It is home for me, and I have been able to live here for almost five years. At the same time, JYP has become very important to me, and it is a privilege to be part of this group. There is a great atmosphere here, and the direction is significantly positive, so it is an honor to be part of this team, Vidgren continues.

In his Liiga career, Vidgren has also represented Lukko and Sport.
