The Ässät power defender Kasper Puutio has been sentenced to a temporary suspension in the Liiga.
Puutio, 23, hit Tappara’s Juuso Nykänen in the head with a cross-check during Friday’s round, resulting in the defender receiving a 5+20 minute penalty for his misconduct.
Puutio will not be in the Ässät lineup at least on Saturday when Ässät faces Tappara again.
Puutio has played 26 games this season with stats of 3+12=15. He shares the position of Ässät’s most effective defender with Rami Määttä, who has played 11 more games.
