AL: Ilves went on a raid in Kuopio – caught KalPa’s championship forward
Ilves strengthens its team for the next season with KalPa’s champion forward.
According to Aamulehti, center Jaakko Lantta, 29, will join the tupsukorvat’s offense for the next season.
Throughout his career, Lantta has become known more for his suspensions and massive penalty minutes than for scoring points. In this season’s 14 games, the forward has recorded 2+3=5 points while accumulating 31 penalty minutes.
Lantta, who celebrated the Finnish championship last spring in KalPa’s jersey, has previously represented SaiPa during his Liiga career, where he played for two seasons before moving to Kuopio in the 2022-23 season.
The 29-year-old center has played 235 regular season games in Liiga, with stats of 17+45=62. During that time, he has spent 284 minutes in the penalty box.
