AL: Ilves’ captain has a radical solution on the table!
The season for Ilves ended in disappointment again in the semifinals, and the team is playing in the bronze match for the fourth time in five years.
In the decisive sixth match, Ilves got back their captain Joonas Nättinen, who returned to the lineup after nearly a month off. He told Aamulehti that he had suffered some kind of injury.
The semifinal loss was a huge disappointment for the captain.
– This is frustrating. For both the team and Ilves fans. Everyone, Nättinen said to Aamulehti.
Watching from the sidelines had been tough
– It was painful to watch the games from the sidelines. Until the fourth game of this series, we played really good hockey. Something happened there, and it turned to Tappara’s favor, Nättinen continued.
In addition to the season disappointment, there are also questions about Nättinen’s future. The 35-year-old veteran forward is considering retiring after this season.
– I haven’t made a decision.
