Helsinki Jokerit has extended the contract of goalkeeper Tomi Karhunen on a short-term basis. The new contract runs until October 31.
Karhunen, 36, joined the Jokers a little over a week ago to replace the injured Olle Eriksson Ek. He has played four games for the team with a save percentage of 85.9.
Last Tuesday, Karhunen recorded a shutout against Pelicans. The victory is the only one for the Jokers this season so far.
The Jokers will play next on Tuesday in Helsinki against HPK. The team will be led by new head coach Juuso Hahl for the first time in this match.
