19-year-old NHL super prospect included in the World Championships
NHL superstar James Hagens, 19, will represent the United States at the World Championships this spring, reports journalist Mark Divver on X.
Hagens is having an eventful season. He played 34 games at Boston University with a total of 23+24=47 points and moved to the AHL at the end of March. Hagens played six games with the Providence Bruins, scoring 1+3 points.
In early April, Hagens signed an entry-level contract with the Boston Bruins, the team that drafted him, and played two regular season games in the NHL with 0+1 points and three playoff games without scoring. Hagens is the Bruins’ seventh overall pick from the first round last summer.
During the current season, Hagens also represented the United States at the U20 World Championships, scoring 2+5 points in five games. Overall, Hagens has played twice in the U20 World Championships and twice in the U18 World Championships, winning the championship once in both age groups.
