Urheilucast: Aatos Koivu leaving TPS – transfer to another Liiga club in progress!
The 19-year-old forward prospect of TPS, Aatos Koivu, may switch teams during the ongoing season, claims Urheilucast.
According to information from Esko Seppänen, the host of the podcast, a larger playing role is being sought for the son of TPS and Leijonat legend Saku Koivu for the remainder of the season from elsewhere in the Liiga.
– According to Urheilucast’s information, the current situation in Turku is that they are receiving calls regarding the active search for a new SM-liiga team for Aatos Koivu for this ongoing season.
– This is because they are consciously looking for a larger, more significant, and better role for him, where he can develop better, Seppänen mentions, referring to his sources.
The younger Koivu’s start to the season at TPS has been results-wise sluggish. The 3rd round draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens has played 18 games in the Liiga with stats of 2+4=6. The young player’s responsibility has been minimal, as Koivu’s average ice time at the beginning of the season has only been 11.56 minutes per game.
