The league was missing the involvement of four players – penalties imposed afterwards
The League’s Fair Play committee has imposed 10-minute misconduct penalties for diving/embellishment on four players retroactively.
The League announced on Tuesday that the players penalized for embellishment are KalPa’s Jaakko Rissanen, SaiPa’s Petr Fridrich, HPK’s Olli Palola, and Ilves’ Aleks Haatanen.
Rissanen’s and Fridrich’s penalties relate to the match played on October 2 between KalPa and SaiPa. Palola’s penalty pertains to the SaiPa–HPK match played on October 15. Haatanen’s penalty was imposed for an incident that occurred during overtime in the Ilves–Jokerit match played on October 17.
According to the League’s announcement, the Fair Play committee has reviewed the situations provided by the situation room based on the available video footage from the matches.
For each confirmed dive, a player receives one 10-minute misconduct penalty notation. These notations are added to the League’s official statistics and increase the players’ so-called “ten account.” Three such penalty notations automatically lead to a one-match suspension.
In the League, penalties for embellishment can also be imposed retroactively, even if no penalty was called during the match.
