The head coach of the Jokers, Tomek Valtonen, regrets his inappropriate behavior: “What happened after the game yesterday…”
The head coach of Jokerit Tomek Valtonen has apologized for his behavior after the match between Jokerit and Nokian Pyry. Valtonen spoke about his inappropriate conduct on Jokerit’s social media channels.
– We had a tight game. At the end of the game, we conceded a goal and lost the match. Emotions were probably running high for everyone, and on the way to the locker room, one of our supporters showed shoes to our coaching staff. I reacted in an inappropriate way, which was not right for that moment.
– What happened after the game yesterday does not represent the values of our team, Jokerit, or my own values, and I apologize for what occurred.
Also, the chairman of Jokerit Mikko Saarni commented on the incident.
– What happened on Friday does not align with the values of Jokerit as an organization or as a team. The matter has been addressed carefully and with the seriousness it requires. Now we will focus on the future and the most important games of the season ahead.
