Surprise acquisition: A forward with over 200 Liiga matches is moving to Jokers!
The Mestis team Helsinki Jokerit strengthens its offense with Ville Leskinen.
The 30-year-old Leskinen has played since last season in the top league of Slovakia with the team HK Dukla Trencin. The 193 cm power forward scored six goals and seven points in 12 games at the beginning of the season.
– His absolute strengths are in the offensive direction, and thus the ability to produce points. In the previous leagues he has played in, the competition has been tough, so we expect Ville to continue at that level here as well, describes the Jokerit sports director Olli-Pekka Yrjänheikki the new acquisition.
Leskinen played in the Liiga for Mikkelin Jukurit from 2016 to 2021. He accumulated over 200 Liiga games (27+28).
In his career, Leskinen has played in Europe in addition to Slovakia in Slovenia, Austria, and Denmark.
