Sports cast: Top name nominated to replace Rikard Grönborg!
The head coach of Tappara, Rikard Grönborg, has a contract that ends after this season. It seems that a replacement for the Swedish coach is already being considered.
Urheilucast’s host Esko Seppänen reports that a potential candidate has been identified at Tappara’s office: Jussi Tapola, who moved from Tappara to Switzerland at the end of the 2022-23 season.
– According to information received by Urheilucast, Tappara’s office is already extremely alert and cautious regarding head coach Jussi Tapola’s status at SC Bern, Seppänen mentions in the broadcast.
– Apparently, the situation in Tampere is that there is already some resistance within the organization, and the union may not necessarily go all the way to the last harbor, he continues.
Grönborg has been rumored to be the head coach of the Swedish championship team Luleå HF for the 2026-27 season.
Grönborg has led Tappara for two seasons. He guided the team to the Finnish championship in his first season, while last season the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals.
In his coaching career, Grönborg has won two world championships as the head coach of Tre Kronor. Before moving to Tappara, he coached the Swiss team ZSC Lions.
