Source: Former HIFK superstar leaves the NHL!
After spending six years in North America, the Swedish forward Emil Bemström, who played for HIFK during the 2021-22 season, is returning to Europe.
The Swedish site Hockeynews.se reports that Bemström has signed a contract with the Swiss NL team SC Bern.
During his six seasons in the NHL, Bemström played 242 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Penguins. Last season, he recorded 0+1 points in 14 NHL games with the Penguins.
In Finland, Bemström is remembered for his impressive visit to HIFK during the 2021-22 season. The Swede scored an impressive 8+9=17 points in 16 Liiga games.
