Sneaky update from Kärpät – big news coming!
Kärpät announced on Wednesday on social media an update where the club thanks Swedish defenseman Marcus Björk.
Initially, the image published by Kärpät seems like a farewell, but upon closer inspection, there is a text on the ice between the skates saying “to 26.6. at 12”, which would refer to the announcement time of the contract. Additionally, on the right side of the arrow in the image, Kärpät’s logo is faintly printed, indicating Björk’s contract extension with Kärpät.
There is also an emoji with a magnifying glass in the publication, suggesting that the image needs to be examined more closely.
Björk, 27, moved to Kärpät last November. Last season, he played 32 games for the team with 4+17=21 points. In the 2022-23 season, Björk played 33 NHL games for the Columbus Blue Jackets with 3+8=11 points.
