The Swedish club Växjö Lakers HC announced on Monday that forward Félix Robert will leave the team after the current season. The Canadian, who has played two seasons in the SHL, is rumored to be heading to Finland next.

26-year-old Robert has been in good form this season. He recorded 16 goals and 8 assists for a total of 24 points in 52 regular season games, making him the team’s second-best scorer. He outperformed familiar names from the Liiga, such as Reid Gardiner and Eemeli Suomi. Gardiner scored 27 goals last season in the Liiga while playing for Kärpät, making him the fourth-best scorer in the entire league.

In the SHL playoffs, Robert played 10 games with a total of 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points.

Before moving to Sweden, Robert played three seasons in the AHL, where he consistently recorded 34 points each season. He also had a highly productive season in the QMJHL during his junior years, scoring an impressive 92 points (36+56) in 46 games in the 2019–2020 season.

According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, Robert’s next destination is most likely Tappara. This could be a potentially very strong reinforcement for the Liiga.
