Petrus Palmu: new League club!
SaiPa has strengthened its roster for the upcoming season by acquiring forward Petrus Palmu. The 28-year-old winger is moving to Lappeenranta from HIFK on a one-year contract.
In the recently concluded season, Palmu represented HIFK in 49 regular season games, recording 7+18=25 points. In the playoffs, he registered two assists (0+2) in five games.
A product of Joensuu’s Jokipojat, he played his junior years in Canada’s OHL league with the Owen Sound Attack. Throughout his league career, he has also represented TPS, JYP, and Jukurit in addition to HIFK. In the league, he has played 327 regular season games, achieving 81+142=223 points.
He has also gained experience from Sweden’s SHL and Germany’s DEL league.
– Experienced Petrus has scoring ability, good offensive instincts, and cleverness in the game, commented SaiPa’s sports director Harri Aho in a statement.
