MTV: Olli Jokinen’s harsh revelation – important forward’s season over!
HIFK’s head coach Olli Jokinen provided an update on the situation of the club’s long-term injured players after Wednesday night’s victory against Ässät.
Jokinen revealed to MTV that Iiro Pakarinen and Jori Lehterä are set to return to the rink in January, while Petteri Lindbohm and Sebastian Repo will return in February. Jokinen described his players as professionals who may recover and be ready to play sooner.
On the other hand, veteran forward Juhani Jasu‘s season seems to be over.
– I don’t believe so. He is not in playing condition. An extremely important player for us. I forgot to mention him specifically as a leader, and “Junnu” also spoke when we had the meeting. An important figure here. Very likely, we won’t see him on the ice anymore this season, Jokinen lamented.
Jasu suffered a severe injury at the beginning of the season that required surgery. The 37-year-old forward was initially expected to recover by March at the latest.
