Last minute change: League’s scoring machine joins the Lions!

The Finnish Ice Hockey Association reports that Luleå’s forward Markus Nurmi will miss this week’s Euro Hockey Tour tournament in Tampere due to illness.
Joining the Lions on Tuesday is KalPa’s star forward Juuso Mäenpää. The 23-year-old Mäenpää has played two matches for the national team in his career.
This season, Mäenpää has scored 19 points with 3 goals and 16 assists in 18 games in the Liiga. The skillful forward won the Finnish championship last spring with KalPa.
The Lions will face Switzerland in the opening match of the EHT tournament in Tampere on Thursday. On Saturday, they will play against the Czech Republic and on Father’s Day, they will meet Sweden.
