Kiekko-Espoo announces an important contract extension. The team announced on Thursday that it has signed a two-year extension with forward Iikka Kangasniemi.
Known for his silky hands, Kangasniemi, 31, was his team’s top scorer this season with 53 regular season games totaling 10+29=39 points. In five playoff games, the forward recorded 2+4=6 points.
Previously representing Pelicans, HIFK, and Blues in the league, Kangasniemi has played 455 Liiga games in his career, totaling 115+206=321 points.
Kangasniemi has played in the Liiga for 11 seasons. The forward has also played one season in the SHL and in the Czech league.
