Tomek Valtonen had enough – A big change happened in Jokerit!
The Jokerit team heads into Wednesday’s match against Ässät with completely revamped forward lines. Head coach Tomek Valtonen has made significant changes to the lineup as the Helsinki team seeks its first victory of the season in Pori.
Jokerit suffered a heavy 2-7 loss to Lukko in Rauma on Saturday. Wednesday’s match is the team’s last before a nearly week-long break for the CHL.
Valtonen has responded to the situation by changing all the forward lines. None of the previous four lines will continue as they were.
In goal will be Olle Eriksson Ek. He also started against Lukko on Saturday, but his league debut ended before the halfway point of the game. Eriksson Ek was substituted after 28 minutes of play when Lukko had scored five goals.
On defense, Riku Tuomola takes the place of Oliver Larsen.
Ässät, on the other hand, is currently suffering from a severe injury crisis. Nearly ten players are sidelined, and after the last match, forwards Peter Tiivola and Patrik Juhola also joined the injured list.
The completely rebuilt Jokerit forward lines look like this:
- Emil Kuusla – Henri Nikkanen – Antti Kalapudas
- Patrick Curry – Alexander Forslund – Maxime Fortier
- Kristo Pitkänen – Aleksi Mustonen – Teemu Turunen
- Markus Hännikäinen – Miro Nalli – Eetu Tuulola
