In Kärpät, the door is swinging – four players out!
Oulu Kärpät announced on Monday on Instagram the departure of four players from the club.
The forwards moving to new horizons are Patrik Virta, Kasperi Ojantakanen, and Sebastian Stålberg, along with defenseman Samuel Jonsson.
Virta played 46 games this season and recorded 9+25=34 points, making him the fifth most effective player for Kärpät.
The Swedish defenseman Jonsson, 27, started the season in his home country with Kalmar HC, playing 25 games with 4+16=20 points. In December, he moved to Kärpät and scored 3+0=3 points in 22 games during the remainder of the season.
Ojantakanen, 31, transferred to Kärpät this season from Ässät. He played 58 games and recorded 1+8=9 points.
The veteran forward Stålberg joined Kärpät mid-season from Sport. The 26-year-old Swede logged 1+3=4 points in 21 games with Kärpät, while he had played 35 games with Sport, recording 9+14=23 points.
