IL: Several clubs interested in Finnish coach – including several Liiga teams
According to media reports, Kölner Haien head coach Kari Jalonen will move to Tappara as head coach next season. However, there is still no clarity regarding his assistant Fredrik Norrena.
Iltalehti directly asked Norrena if he already has a contract ready with Tappara.
– No, the situation is open. I do not have a contract with anyone for next season. My contract with Köln ends after this season, Norrena commented.
According to Iltalehti, several different clubs are interested in Norrena’s services. He is one of the candidates for Köln’s next head coach, and Tappara would like Norrena in their coaching team. Other Liiga teams have also shown interest.
Before coaching, Norrena had a long career as a goaltender. He represented Finland several times at the national team level and also played in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets over three different seasons.
