The Jokerit team continues to strengthen its roster with new notable players for the upcoming season as they return to the Liiga.
Ilta-Sanomat reported on Monday that the Helsinki team has signed a contract with Kärpät’s star forward Patrik Virta, 29, which will come into effect next season.
Virta is the fifth most effective scorer for Kärpät this season, with stats of 7+23=30 in 39 games.
The 177-centimeter center, who has won two Finnish championships and the CHL championship while playing for Tappara, has also represented TPS and HPK in the Liiga. In total, Virta has played 437 regular season games in the Liiga with stats of 113+139=252.
