Another strong capture from Tappara – IL: Caught a TPS legend
Tappara strengthens its coaching staff for the next season with a well-known name, claims Iltalehti.
According to the newspaper, Tappara has hired TPS and Leijonat legend Fredrik Norrena as the assistant coach for the next season. Norrena follows Kari Jalonen, who has reportedly been appointed as the head coach of Tappara. The duo is currently coaching Köln, which plays in the DEL league.
Norrena, 52, played 100 NHL games during his career as a goaltender, and he also won four Finnish championships with TPS. His trophy cabinet also includes one Swedish championship.
Norrena, who ended his playing career in the spring of 2014, served as the goaltending coach for TPS for several seasons at the beginning of his coaching career. In Germany, he is currently in his second season of coaching.
