The Montreal Canadiens’ drafted forward Aatos Koivu has been absolutely unstoppable with the Finnish under-20 national team at the World Junior Summer Showcase tournament.

The Young Lions defeated a USA team filled with NHL super prospects with a crushing score of 6-3 on Saturday. Koivu scored two goals in the match. He has now scored six goals in four games of the tournament.

Koivu’s scorching hot form has also been noted across the pond.

– No awards are given out in this tournament, but Koivu has easily been the MVP (most valuable player). He scored two goals today. His ability to create opportunities makes him an extremely dangerous player. Koivu’s shot is also very quick, and he is often in the right place at the right time, DailyFaceOff expert Steven Ellis praised the Finn after the match.

Young Lions’ Matias Vanhanen and Daniel Nieminen combined for four points each in the game. Vanhanen had 1+3 and Nieminen 0+4. Jasper Kuhta also scored twice.

Finland will face Sweden late on Saturday in the final match, which has won all four of its tournament games.
