Urheilucast: Jyrki Jokipakka gave a discount to Tappara – this is how much he earns
Tappara defender Jyrki Jokipakka, 35, will earn 170,000 euros starting next season along with performance bonuses, reports Urheilucast. The extension announced on Friday covers two seasons.
According to Urheilucast, Jokipakka only negotiated with Tappara and did not put his contract out for bids.
– Jokipakka accepted a contract that is below market value because he specifically wants to play for Tappara and live in Tampere, Esko Seppänen states in the broadcast.
Jokipakka was among the best defenders in the league last season. He recorded a total of 67 games in the regular season and playoffs with stats of 13+31=44. This season, seven games have produced points of 1+2=3.
– When I hear such things from people in Tampere who actually know. This indicates an extremely stable club culture. These are great news for Tappara. Good days for Tappara fans, Seppänen says.
