Urheilucast: Jussi Markkanen’s blunder brings a huge bill to the League – received two options
New information has emerged regarding the departure of Jussi Markkanen, who stepped down from the role of sports director of the league.
Urheilucast reports on X that Markkanen’s mistake with the match schedule will result in a massive bill for the league. According to UC’s information, the league will have to pay a total of over six figures.
Last week, the league had to make five match reschedules on short notice due to the CHL, as there are certain game days reserved exclusively for CHL matches in the agreement between the league and CHL. Markkanen admitted that, as the responsible person, he should have ensured this better.
Additionally, Urheilucast reports that Markkanen was given two options: either he resigns from his position as the league’s sports director immediately on his own initiative, or he gets fired. From these options, Markkanen chose the first.
Markkanen worked as the league’s sports director for three years.
