Lock continued its player announcements on Wednesday, as the Rauma club announced that Santeri Virtanen, 26, is joining the team on a two-year contract.

The 188-centimeter center moves to Lukko from Kiekko-Espoo, where he played for two seasons. This season, Virtanen scored 7+16=23 points in 43 regular season games. In four playoff games, Virtanen scored two goals.

– We are getting an excellently aged Finnish center who is a very diligent two-way player. He can bring us more offensive power and on the other hand, he is also very reliable defensively, Lukko’s sports director Kalle Sahlstedt says in a statement.

Virtanen has also represented SaiPa and Ilves in the Liiga. In total, the Winnipeg Jets’ fourth-round draft pick from the summer of 2017 has played 298 regular season games in the Liiga with 45+76=121 points and 26 playoff games with 8+2=10 points.
