The league team made a splash – historic captain selection

The new captain of Mikkelin Jukurit is Connor Ford. The American forward will take on the captaincy for the upcoming Liiga season.
For 28-year-old Ford, the upcoming season will be his second with the Jukurit. The selection is historic, as he will become the first foreign player to serve as captain of the club.
The captaincy was held for the previous two seasons by Jesper Piitulainen. He left Jukurit after ten years spent in Mikkeli and moved to the Kuopio KalPa team.
Ford played 40 Liiga games with Jukurit last season. The forward scored eight goals and provided 15 assists during the regular season.
Towards the end of the season, Ford moved on loan to Rauman Lukko.
