Kiekko-Espoo informs that it has signed a one-year extension with Matti Järvinen, who served as the team’s captain last season.
The experienced Järvinen, 36, has played for Kiekko-Espoo for the last two seasons. Last season, the forward recorded 13 points (6+7) in 22 games before an injury ended his season in December.
Järvinen began his Liiga career with Espoon Blues in the 2011-12 season. Since then, he has also represented SaiPa, Tappara, KalPa, and HPK in Liiga, playing a total of 573 regular-season games (101+177=278) and 49 playoff games (7+15=22) over 13 seasons.
Throughout his career, Järvinen has also played in Switzerland, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
