Last season, Swedish forward Emil Sylvegård, 33, continues his career in his home country.

The Malmö Redhawks, playing in the Swedish SHL league, announces that they have signed a short-term contract with Sylvegård. The forward will join the team’s roster immediately.

Sylvegård played 48 regular season games with Tappara last season, recording 7+9=16 points and celebrated winning the Finnish championship in the spring.

Now he is returning to a familiar club, as the Swede previously represented Malmö’s senior team for six seasons.

Malmö’s sports director Oscar Alsenfelt states that the club decided to strengthen its offense due to injuries.

– Emil knows the club, understands what is required here, and brings energy and experience. Given the absences in the offensive line, it’s great to have a player who can help us immediately, Alsenfelt commented in a statement.

Sylvegård is also pleased with his return.

– It’s really great to be back in Malmö. My heart has always been here. This is my home, and I will give my all for Malmö, the forward says.
