The Jokers’ difficult start to the season has led the club’s management to an emergency meeting. Esko Seppänen reports in the latest episode of Urheilucast that the management gathered on Saturday to discuss the team’s situation.

– The Jokers’ corner room held an emergency meeting yesterday evening, Seppänen says in the episode.

The Jokers have won only one match in the league this season. On Saturday, Kiekko-Espoo took the points at Metro Arena with a score of 4–1. The Jokers are now last in the regular season, in 16th place.

The pressure is particularly on head coach Tomek Valtonen. Some fans have called for his dismissal even before the Espoo match, and on Saturday, dissatisfaction was heard from the stands. At Metro Arena, they sang: “For the last time, Valtonen Tomek!”

Seppänen mentioned Pekka Virta as a potential next head coach for the Jokers. It is said that Virta had already offered himself to the Jokers a year ago.

The Jokers’ next match is on Tuesday at Veikkaus Arena, where HPK will be the guest.
