Roby Järventie from Tappara: big rumor!
Finnish forward Roby Järventie‘s playing position for next season is still open. If a spot on the Edmonton Oilers NHL team does not open up soon, his career may continue in Europe.
According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, several clubs from top leagues in Europe are interested in the 23-year-old winger. At least two clubs from the Swedish SHL league have inquired about Järventie’s situation, and there is also reported interest from the Swiss top league.
Järventie’s last few years have been fragmented, but this season he played 50 games and scored 34 points (16+18).
In the NHL, Järventie has previously played seven games with the Ottawa Senators. He has yet to accumulate games with the Edmonton Oilers.
Before his contract with the Oilers, Järventie had signed a contract containing an NHL clause with Tappara, so a return to the Liiga is also a possible option for next season.
