Podcast: Antti Pennanen revealed his salary – such amounts are paid in Leijonat
The head coach of the Lions Antti Pennanen will not have to struggle with small money due to his new contract.
Pennanen, who recently signed an extension contract lasting until spring 2030, revealed his salary on Friday during the Sijoituskästi podcast.
Pennanen stated that he earns over 300,000 but less than 400,000 euros per year. This amount places him among the highest-paid head coaches in the domestic League.
– It reflects the top salaries of the SM-liiga head coaches, Pennanen said.
In the podcast, Pennanen was also asked why the head coach of the Lions does not earn even more.
– The top salaries in the SM-liiga have risen quickly in recent years, Pennanen replied.
Pennanen’s income has significantly increased compared to the earned income reported for the 2024 tax year. At that time, his earned income was 190,792 euros.
Pennanen started as the head coach of the Lions in the fall of 2024. Before that, he worked as the head coach of Ilves.
