KooKoo: big news!
Pelicans and KooKoo will meet on Monday for the second quarter-final match in Lahti. KooKoo will get a crucial piece back in their lineup, namely the team’s top scorer Ville Meskanen is included in the roster.
Meskanen was absent from the first quarter-final meeting between the teams on Saturday. Now he returns to his familiar spot on the first line, where Miska Siikonen operates in the center and Veeti Miettinen skates on the other wing.
Meskanen recorded 23+26=49 points in 57 regular season games.
Tomas Mazura has dropped out of KooKoo’s lineup, who played the last game in Meskanen’s position on the first line. Also, Kalle Loponen and Joseph Berger are absent from the defense today.
As a result, defenders Joona Riekkinen and Jiri Pärssinen will rise to the lineup, who were not in action during the opening game.
Pelicans will head into the second leg with the same lineup that won Saturday’s match 1-0 with a decision made in the first overtime. The winning goal was scored by Johannes Johannesen.
