Kiekko-Espoo suffers severe losses: three key forwards sidelined
Kiekko-Espoo hosts HPK in the League’s Wednesday round.
The main interest in the match focuses on the debut of the golden lion Leo Komarov in the Espoo jersey. On the other hand, there is bad news from the injury list for the team.
In addition to those previously sidelined, Aarne Talvitie, Matti Järvinen, Joonas Rask, and Elias Puolanne, Kiekko-Espoo has lost three key forwards to the injury list since last weekend.
Santeri Virtanen’s knee injury is likely to trouble him for the rest of the season. In addition to Virtanen, John Stevens and Iikka Kangasniemi have recently joined the injury list. The most significant loss in terms of impact is Kangasniemi, who has scored 26 points with 6 goals and 20 assists in 38 games, making him the team’s third-highest scorer.
The match between Kiekko-Espoo, who is on a two-game winning streak, and HPK, who has won their last three games, is a true six-point game, as both teams are fighting for the last playoff spots.
