Big contract news from the league club: “Elite of their position”
Jukurit has signed a one-year extension with center Connor Ford.
The American Ford, 27, is playing in the Liiga and is in his first season with Jukurit. He has recorded 12 assists in 21 games, leading his team in assists and being one of the top scorers. Additionally, Ford’s plus-minus statistic of +6 is the best on the team.
– Connor has proven to be elite at his position. An extremely skilled and skating-powerful two-way center who does winning things on the ice. A smart player, versatile and a really important piece for us. He is on the ice when the game is on the line – whether we need a goal or have to handle the last situation in our own zone. It’s a really big deal for the whole organization that we got Connor to continue in Mikkeli, Jukurit’s sports director Mikko Hakkarainen says in the club’s statement.
Ford racked up 50 points last season in Slovakia, with 12 goals and 38 assists in 52 games. He represented the team HK Spisska Nova Ves.
