A key piece has dropped from the league team’s offense – will not play anymore this year
Vaasan Sport will have to manage for a long time without Swedish forward Kalle Miketinac.
The 27-year-old Miketinac is sidelined for several months due to injury. According to Sport’s recent announcement, the forward’s return to the rink is currently estimated to be in 2027.
A more specific date for Miketinac’s return is not yet known. The club states that the recovery timeline will be clarified later.
Miketinac is currently playing his fourth season with Sport. This season, he has appeared in nine Liiga games and scored one goal. Overall, Miketinac has recorded 65 points (22+43) in 141 Liiga games.
Sport’s injury concerns are not limited to Miketinac. The team is also missing Kalle Östman and Max Laatikainen from the lineup.
Sport has previously announced that Östman is expected to return to playing condition no earlier than 2027. Laatikainen’s estimated absence is 1–2 weeks.
