The CEO of Lahden Pelicans is changing. The club announces that CEO Lauri Pöyhönen is moving on to new responsibilities at AKK-Motorsport. Pelicans has appointed Juuso Pulliainen as the new CEO.

Pulliainen will start in his role immediately. Pöyhönen will support the new CEO and the organization during the transition period.

Pulliainen has extensive and diverse experience in sports business, marketing, and international management. Most recently, he served as the country manager for Dignita Systems and as the CEO for Europe, overseeing a broad international business.

– Pelicans is a stable and ambitious organization. We want to be an even more competitive club both on and off the ice, Pulliainen states in Pelicans’ announcement.

The chairman of the board Pasi Nurminen emphasizes the controlled nature of the change.

– This is a managed transition. Necessary reforms have been made in the club, and the work will continue consistently under the leadership of the new CEO. The most important thing is the stability of operations and long-term development.

– The club’s board would like to thank Lauri Pöyhönen for his significant contribution to the development of the club. Under his leadership, important structural and financial reforms have been implemented at Pelicans, creating a strong foundation for future development, Nurminen states.

The Pelicans’ season ended in the quarter-finals against KooKoo in five matches.
