The core of Lappeenranta SaiPa’s team for the upcoming season is starting to take shape.

SaiPa announces that it has made contract extensions for the 2026-27 season with defenders Saku Salminen, Vertti Svensk, and Brian Kramer.

Salminen has been one of the cornerstones of SaiPa’s defense this season. The 26-year-old defender, who serves as an alternate captain, has recorded 1+2 points in 25 games.

The 25-year-old Kramer joined SaiPa this season from the NCAA, where he played a total of 170 games over the previous five seasons, scoring 21+64=85 points.

This season, Kramer has achieved 1+5=6 points in 32 games with SaiPa.

– Brian has continuously improved his performance, and it is easy to see his potential for development in the upcoming season. His reliable, eager play and good skating skills show that Brian can succeed in this league as well, says SaiPa’s sports director Harri Aho in the announcement.

– I am pleased with these contract extensions for both the more experienced Saku and for Brian and Vertti. Both Brian and Vertti have shown in their recent performances that they can compete at the league level. It is great to see that for each of them, Lappeenranta has become a place where they can continue their professional careers in the upcoming season, Aho continues.
