Here is the verdict of the puck fans on Olli Jokinen’s kicks – the jokesters rubbed salt in the wounds
HIFK decided on Wednesday to change its head coach after a poor start to the season. The club announced that it had fired Olli Jokinen, whose duties will be taken over by Tommi Miettinen.
The coaching change received an enthusiastic response from HIFK supporters. The comments section of the club’s Instagram post was filled with relieved messages.
– This has been awaited, one celebrated.
– Thank you. Miettinen will save us, another wrote with flame emojis.
– Welcome to the family Miettinen.
– Well, it does shine sometimes even on a pile of sticks.
Many supporters also noted Jokinen’s habit of starting the post-loss press conference by congratulating the opponent. The same phrasing was used for teasing in connection with the firing news.
– Congratulations first of all to Jokinen on the firing.
– Congratulations first of all to Miettinen on the position.
– Congratulations first of all to HIFK supporters on Jokinen’s firing.
– Congratulations to the organization for the right decision. It’s a shame for Jokinen that things never really took off at any point. Of course, OJ also put pressure on himself with his strong words. Well, nice if this solution helps avoid the B league.
