The St. Louis Blues have invited Aleksanteri Kaskimäki, familiar from HIFK, to their NHL roster. The team announced this on Sunday.

The 22-year-old forward has started his season strongly in the AHL. Kaskimäki leads the Springfield Thunderbirds’ internal scoring race with 2+5=7 points in six games.

The Blues’ offense is currently suffering from injuries. On the injured list are Dillon Dube, Ross Johnston, and Aleksei Toroptshenko.

Kaskimäki is playing his third season in the Blues organization. He made his NHL debut last season and played five games without any points.

The Blues drafted the Espoo-born forward in the third round with the 73rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Kaskimäki has played a total of 133 games in the AHL regular season and has collected 85 points (33+52).
