Jerry Turkulainen: the career continues in familiar surroundings
The address for Jerry Turkulainen, 27, who plays in the Swiss National League for the second season, is now clear for next season.
The forward, who was even in contention for the Swiss league’s scoring title until his injury last season, will continue his career with the league’s bottom team HC Ajoie. The new contract is for one year and will expire in the spring of 2027.
The 171-centimeter winger, who moved from JYP after a 63-point regular season to Ajoie for the 2024-25 season, scored 9+29=38 points in 30 games played in his rookie season in the cuckoo clock country. In the current season, Turkulainen has played half of his team’s 24 games and has recorded 3+8=11 points in 12 games.
Ajoie strongly relies on Finnish expertise, as the team’s internal scoring leaders before Turkulainen are Anttoni Honka, Julius Nättinen, and Niklas Friman. Additionally, the assistant coaching positions are held by Juha-Pekka Hytönen and Petteri Nummelin.
